RICHARD AVEDON is most known for his work in the fashion world as well as his character portraits. He was born May 15, 1923 and was inspired by his parents clothing store. He first worked for the Merchant Marines taking identification photos. Later he moved on to shooting for Vogue and Harpers Bazaar, using his models to create beautiful pieces full of movement.
Jerry Uelsmann was born on June 11, 1934. He got a degree at the Rochester Institute of Technology and at Indiana University. He began teaching at the University of Florida in Gainesville in 1960 and is now retired. Uelsmann is member of the Royal Photographic Society. His work has been exhibited in over 100 shows and museums.
